Reincarnation Rhapsody

A Doll's House by Ibsen is a story about Nora, a mother of three children, who is the wife of a wealthy husband named Torvald. Nora suffers from the stress of being exposed for committing forgery by a man named Krogstad. She has a huge debt to pay back for borrowing a lot of money to go on a vacation that saved Torvald’s life and is kept a secret to this day. At the end of the play, Nora got to know who Torvald really was and left him, her house, and her children behind in search of a new life. This play of ours must include Nora as a character. Me and my classmates were split up into groups of three. Each group had a male character, who played as himself, and two female characters - Nora and someone of their choosing from “The Dinner Party” by Judy Chicago, which is an artwork installation that symbolizes history of women in society. Our objective in this play is to discuss gender equality in marriages, so we chose Hera to be another character who is the Goddess of Marriage and is also included in “The Dinner Party”. I hope you enjoy!
