Throwing the Book(er) at Guns

This is my first Humanities course of Junior year, Rhetoric. According to the dictionary, rhetoric is the art of persuasive speaking or writing, using figures of speech and other devices and techniques. What we have learned over the past few weeks of this class are the roles that are played when one uses rhetoric - the rhetorical appeals, stylistic devices, etc. Some rhetorical devices include allusion, analogy, anaphora, simile, and metaphor. For this action project, I was to pose as the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, Cory Booker, and respond to a question he feels passionately about in about a two-minute time-slot. Using ethos, pathos, and logos to establish credibility and appeal to the audience, I attempt to change the minds of gun owners, and identify with those who already support gun control.
